Power Systems Research and Consultancy Group (PSRC) is a research group aimed at utilizing the local engineering research skills for the Philippine industry. It performs research in the areas of transmission system, distribution system, generation and general power systems. Its twofold aim can be summarized as first , to advance the practice of power system engineering in the country and second is to provide academic research support to the industry to resolve power-related issues such as the lowering electricity rates.

In order to achieve t he first objective, PSRC invests on simulation software, software development and new technologies. Its power system analysis software is being developed using open-source technology, later to be used in the academe and in the industry in the Philippines. This way young engineers will be introduced to t he science of power system at minimal cost. Its investment on new technology, such as in the field of remote sensing, advances the field of power engineering through fusion of technology.

For the second objective, PSRC works in partnership with public and private organizations in order to determine the problems in power system in the country. By introducing low-cost and innovative solutions, unnecessary investments are avoided.
